wow, so I forgot to post my summer_of_giles artwork in my own journal (cuz I am clueless). SO, here, without adieu... Giles! Lots of Giles!

I have below a bunch of images with some of the awesome lines Giles said (ok, one that was said about him, but I couldn't resist)

I pulled a couple of words that seemed to me to be sort of descriptions of Giles, and you get graphics!

for the first part I went classic - classic Giles.  I have a couple of reworked images and some icons of what I consider my favorite Giles-y pics.

Then I started on the pairings.  These are designed as movie posters / book covers and are kind of character studies of Giles through the early seasons (1-4)!

Finally, I'm doing this series of moments when I felt like Giles had great chemistry with another character.  One of my favorite comes from Bad Girls, when Wesley first arrives, and Buffy and Giles are in perfect accord.  Just thinking about that scene makes me smile.

The second actually comes from a moment that makes me tear up just a little - it's from the musical, when Tara and Giles are both acknowledging that they can't continue their relationships with two other people in the same form - because that's destructive for them both.  The staging of this scene is so beautiful it breaks my heart.  I always wondered what might happen if they were able to comfort each other, even just as friends.

For Giles & Wes though, it's not so much one single moment, but instead a series of them standing just too close to each other, looking so cute in their suits and cleaning their glasses together.  The way Wes is so absolutely silly and Giles is so sardonic just makes me grin.

polly1esther 's hilarious vid The Odd Couple totally reminded me that for a brief moment (well, sorta half a season) Giles & Spike lived together as uneasy roommates.  There was teasing, and blood drinking, and some astonishment at the guitar playing.

And finally... there are very few times when Giles and Oz directly interact (though I can think of some fairly fraught ones pertaining to Oz getting to his cage on time in highschool). But there's this one moment in Season 4 in Harsh Light of Day where Oz says what he says in the poster below, and Giles almost stops what he's doing to listen to an album, when they're in perfect accord. And I LOVED that moment.

From my summer_of_giles posting day - the fic tributes, in their entirety (gushing included)...

Set I:
This is another open love letter.  I seem to be sending them out a lot lately, but that's because there's plenty of love in this fandom, and I couldn't leave Giles out of it.  For those of you who saw my spring_with_xan posts, you'll know what I'm talking about.

For those of you who didn't, I wanted to create graphics for my favorite Giles stories and for my favorite Giles authors.  It's going slowly, but this post today will hopefully reflect a little of the fangirl adoration I share for two radically different but equally amazing authors mireille719  and janedavitt.  Both of have a habit of writing the Giles I fell in love with, and yet both bring their own interpretations of his personality to the front so much so that I fall in love with him all over again after reading their fics.

Behind the cut you'll find links to wallpapers that include some of my favorite lines from each fic, so you can enjoy the memory of the fic even when you're not reading it!  And, of course, links to each fic in question so you can read them if you're so inclined!

Set II:
There are some fics that stay with me, with sound or shape or form. Sometimes they're richly textured enough that they leave an indelible imprint on me.  Doesn't matter how long the fic.  Sometimes it just takes a couple of words.

Why yes, I have had time to make some recommendations!  So check out the following if you're looking for yummy fandom fun.  I didn't get to do as many lists as I thought I was going to this year, but I love what I picked!

It feels like it's been forever since I've posted graphic-type things.  I keep getting dissatisified with my icons, and then liking banners but really only being motivated to create them *for* people (which is actually really fun, but I'm feeling lazy about gathering those together at the moment into one post).

a couple of days ago I posted that I'd make some banners if people wanted them.  And WHOAH the response!  HEEEE!  You guys rock cuz you let me make graphics for your work.

So here are the results.  Now, the reason why you should check below?  Because it is my total pleasure to create fic banners for such fantastic fics!  I get to give virtual prezzies to some of my favorite peoples - this is what the fandom fun is about.  So if you haven't read the works yet, go, forth, read!  I guarante you'll have a great time!
