So it wasn't the best Friday ever, I'll say that.

First, I got pulled over and ticketed because my car inspection is two years old - even though I ordered my registration last night and technically I think I have till the end of the month to get the thing reinspected.

THEN I take the boss lady's puppy out to run around while she's interviewing my replacement, and despite my very good attempts to fend it off for 15 minutes, in minute 16 it manages to hook teeth into my skirt and RIP.  It's not terribly visible, but it's not exactly repairable either.  What does the boss lady say?  "Well, that's what you get for offering to take the dog outside".  Ha.  Ha.  see me laughing?  yeah, that's me laughing.

Then, as it turns out, instead of a lovely three-day weekend before I have to get back to class, I am going to WORK on Monday.  Which is fine, because in two weeks I won't be working there, and I do owe it to her to make things as ready as possible for the next person.  BUT - three day weekend!  GRR.

And yeah, I know, at this point these really are just whines.  But I'm whining cuz I feel like it.  So there.

So finally after all that, she notes she doesn't have much work for me to do on Monday, and perhaps I should come in and spend an hour or two thinking about how I'm going to train the new person... Which is an interesting method of transferring knowledge, to be sure, but ... since I'm already a thinker I kind of already know how to train someone for my job.  The final upshot of the convo is that I'm going to write her a procedures manual (as i've done for every job I've had since my very first)... which was fine.  When she started to tell me *how* to write it up, I cut her off, at the end of my patience.  It's not as if I'm a newby to this admin thing.  *grin*

Now though?  Now I'm deliciously blissed out from coming home, having Neil be ready to go out to dinner, and hitting one of our new favorite restaurants that does authentic Italian (i mean truly authentic - their carbonarra is to die for and it comes served with an actual egg yoke on the top to mix into the cream sauce - and their cesar salad is actually served with anchovies if you want it).  Yummy unpronounceable dry italian wine, sumptuous food, delightful service, and the best of all, the best company in the world.

how's that for ending on a good note?  *grin*

Procedures manual. Gah. I've done it several times too. That's when you realize how much crap you really do in a job.

Puppies and skirts are not a good combination. No-one is allowed to wear a skirt in my house! Well, he's probably a bit better now, but he will still nibble at 'em if he is given a chance, I reckon! (especially in the summer, Cathy came 'round wearing a boho style skirt, with lots of tassley bits? Oy! That was a Jet paradise!)

I would call in sick on Monday and enjoy the 3 day goodness? ;) But really, you're rid of her soon, just concentrate on that goodness!

And mmmm, the restaurant sounds *yummy*!

Some bosses need a good kick in the ass. *sigh*

*squishes you*

(I'm so glad your day ended on a good note. Sometimes, that's all it takes to put you in the best of mood for the next day. :D)

I feel like your boss owes you a new skirt - or a gift card to get one!

But I'm very glad you had your amazing Italian dinner!

Oh, no skirt!!! Bad puppy!

Move to Oklahoma, we don't have inspection stickers any longer. *g*

Your evening out sounds great! Today, I'm going to slide on the ice over to [livejournal.com profile] uberaeryn's and pick her up to hang out with me, where I'm going to force her to help me plot the cracked out S/X I want to write for you.

Well, I've lived here since I was 6 months old, so I don't really know too much else (although I've visited everywhere from CA to NYC to all parts south.) I like that it's an inexpensive state to live (all of my northern friends are shocked at how much house you can get for less than 100K.)

I like that it's a "new" state (we're having our centennial this year.)

I like that it's both western and southern and midwestern in flavor; that's it's a friendly state and that the state song is a show-tune. I like that it's a state that's trying to grow and increasing its visiblity, and it's very lovely in the eastern parts (very green, lots of lake country.)

What I don't like is that I have a hard time finding people like me. Most of the people I've met (post-college) are very day-to-day working for a living, and not too many dreamers. And even with some of the friends I made in college, I don't find a lot of what I've found online - people with similar world views, big dreams, tolerance of other's differences. That sort of thing.

However, I was lucky enough to find [livejournal.com profile] uberaeryn my sophomore year in college, and that helped A LOT. She was also from small town Oklahoma and had the same mix of "I love this part of country culture, but I don't really like I belong here" that I had.

Do you know where in Oklahoma your friend moved? It's really only Oklahoma City (where Kathy and I live) and Tulsa. Hah! And a bunch of populated pastures in between.

Okay, that rambling answer done, I'm off to have some [livejournal.com profile] uberaeryn time!

Found you through the friend of a friend and wanted to say I LOVE your banners/icons/wallpapers etc,.

I took a WHOLE bunch and gave you your own folder on my desktop because I nabbed so many things. As of now, my desktop wall is Oz - sharp dressed man and I'm about to upload quite a few icons to my journal.

I originally just wanted a few Giles and Oz icons and got so much more than I expected and just wanted to let you know that I'm truly impressed with everything you've made.

Well I'm glad because you really deserves a lot of YAYs and stuffies because you really really do beautiful things with the imges you use.

And OMG...if you post up more Oz, I will so turn fangirlish on you!

I have such a crush on him...its odd because he is normally the complete opposite of the guys I like... case in point, Angel. Tall, dark and sexy as hell and yet I'm crushing on a short redhead.

Ah well... its Oz and he's cool =)

As it is, do you mind if I link you up at my community? I'd like to add you to the left sidebar if you wouldn't mind? [livejournal.com profile] btvsatsdotcom

Gah! Ok, so I'm bouncing in my seat all squeeeee-like with my fingers crossed. I've been on such an Oz kick lately writing ficlets with his coming back and he and Willow getting back together and stuff.

I think soon I'm gonna have him eat Kennedy and not in a way that she would like!

Community is open to everyone so please, by all means, JOIN! ^^

I just started it a week ago and already have over 20+ people and 30+ posts/fics. Not bad for a brand-spankin-new com that I've only pimped out in one post one one site. Most everyone is strictly by word of mouth thus far so that's another big SQUEEEEEEEE^^

I'm gonna go link you up right now :)
