Inigo was actually a total guess.

Date: 2005-12-24 12:27 am (UTC)4. Actually, Nathaniel. I know, you really don't like him, but i'm giving him hidden depths.
16. 2nd fav.
18. I soooo do! They're my "i'm sick i need comfort books!" that i re-read about once a year. But nope, Silk.

Date: 2005-12-23 03:34 pm (UTC)3. Aeon
11. Uh . . . Lars? (and he sings too!)
16. Stewie . . . everybody loves Stewie.
17. Arthur
18. Silk
I recognize most of them . . . by reputation in some cases. Got really into Piers Anthony for a while, but he has this bad habit of spending way too much time justifying his characters' sexual hanguips.

11. NO, although I do love Lars. But it's Killa all the way.
16. 2nd fav. 1st? Brian
17. 2nd fav. 1st? Tick
18. TOTALLY! how did you know?
i liked Piers Anthony when I was younger, but I've tried to reread him now and just end up getting annoyed because the sex/romance is usually lame/abrupt, and everything else takes too much time. Sigh.

Date: 2005-12-24 01:47 am (UTC)Exactly. I skipped over most of Wielding A Red Sword (Incarnations of Immortality) because it bored me, and because I didn't see it fitting into the larger story arc. And looking back on it, great whacks of the last book leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Date: 2005-12-24 03:07 am (UTC)I love his really early stuff. Ox, Orn, and one other was a great trilogy.

Date: 2005-12-24 03:12 am (UTC)Dragon Riders of Pern is a toughie because it goes on and on and on. Master Robinton? F'Lar? Lessa? Ruth's rider whose name starts with a J, maybe it was Jax?
Crystal Singer seires is great, but I can't remember any of hte charactgers' names. Is Kilshandra the main character?
Vows & Honor, is that the Tarma/Kethry books? I'm voting for Kerowyn or Kethry's husband whose name escapes me again, but I think it starts wtih a J (what's with the J names I can't remember?)
The Xanth series is so long ago for me I can't remember anyone's names. I liked hte young male protagonist in a lot of them. The one that married the princess who always wore green.
Teh Belgariad and the Mallorean are my all-time favorite books. I have read them each about 100 times. They're like comfort food.

Date: 2005-12-24 04:07 am (UTC)And Dragonriders is definitely Lessa with Jaxom (that's Ruth's rider) a close second... and yeah, there are millions, although i was thinking first three/four
And Crystal Singer is totall Killishandra! And that's who I love, so it works!
Vows & Honor is Tarma/Kethry (and i had to go look up what she was calling the series myself). Jadrek is Keth's hubbie, and he's definitely up there, but Tarma is nearest and dearest my heart.
Xanth is a fairly awful one for anybody to choose - but i was obsessed when i was younger - and I think my fav. was Dor from Castle Roogna (w/in the first 3 of the set)... I don't remember if he married Irene or not... I think so though.
and as for the belgariad & the mallorean, i'm so glad i put them on there!! it's more beloved than I knew - and i'm the same way... read 'em hundreds of times, exactly like comfort food. Although they're getting worn out for me because I can open to any page and know what's going on in the story at this point, you know?
I'm so glad I did this! I didn't realize we had so much reading stuff in common (although I shouldn't be totally surprised!). Still, it's kinda awesome. Wish I could loan you books...
speaking of which, got any fantasy recc's? i'm on break and need some light reading...

Date: 2005-12-24 04:15 am (UTC)As for rec's, if you read Mercedes Lackey, I'm assuming you've read the Vanyel series and the Arrows of the Queen series. I love those two.
The Last Rune series by Marc Anthony is great! And, it's finished, so that's always nice to be able to read six books in a row.
The Witch books by Kim Harrison are really good. I like her main character.
I'm also really enjoying Jim Butcher's Dresden files series. I think he's up to book 7.
L. A. Banks has written a vampire slayer series with an African American main character. It's pretty good, although it cracks me up that it has some critics quotes saying "much more original than Buffy." I don't want to spoil why that's a ridiculous statement.
Also, Kelly Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld are really good. I like Bitten and Stolen with a female werewolf as the main character.
It's so much fun to find people who love the same books I do. What's the last fun thing you read (not counting anything in Japanese).

Date: 2005-12-27 01:11 am (UTC)Totally love the Mercedes Lackey, but I think I've run through all of 'em a thousand times :D
OOO! I haven't heard of Marc Anthony, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher or LA Banks! WOOT. I love new reccs.
And the Women of the Other World series is pretty damn good - I've got all three that are in paperback and I think she's either got a new one out or it's coming out.
Last fun thing I read? Other than fic ;)? Terry Pratchett "Discworld" books. They're my crack.

4. Nathaniel
8. Muad'dib
10. Lessa
19. Can't remember the name. Starts with B. Maybe.
Been too long since I read Earthsea. I can't even think of names to guess.

Date: 2005-12-25 02:38 am (UTC)4 - DEAD on. I have such a soft spot for the bottoms
8 - actually, Leto
10 - ABSOLUTELY
19 - ? he has way too many characters in that series anyway. It's probably Dor.
And earthsea is the Doorkeeper, actually, because he heals Ged when he's broken. I love the healers...
Oh, and you didn't really repeat at all! :D
