1. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love of at some time in your life.

2. Have your friends list guess your favourite character from each item.

I don't mind Nathaniel. There's a woman in a couple of my RPGs that writes an amazing Nathaniel that you just want to wrap up and take home and chain him to your bed. I just don't like Book!Nathaniel and the direction LKH has taken him. It probably wouldn't be so bad if you ingored the way she wrote him and just inserted your own version of the boy into the books. :D

1. Not that I have a one-track mind or anything, but gotta be Giles.
3. Aeon
11. Uh . . . Lars? (and he sings too!)
16. Stewie . . . everybody loves Stewie.
17. Arthur
18. Silk

I recognize most of them . . . by reputation in some cases. Got really into Piers Anthony for a while, but he has this bad habit of spending way too much time justifying his characters' sexual hanguips.

Well . . . duh, he's The Man. (On a side note, wouldn't Anthony Head make a great Belgarath?)

Exactly. I skipped over most of Wielding A Red Sword (Incarnations of Immortality) because it bored me, and because I didn't see it fitting into the larger story arc. And looking back on it, great whacks of the last book leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Interesting, Wielding a Red Sword was my second favorite of the Incarnations of Immortaility series. Although, seriously, after he got through the major ones and started on the Devil/God ones, I lost interest.

I love his really early stuff. Ox, Orn, and one other was a great trilogy.

I love the Anita Blake books!!! Although I might like th eMerry Gentry books more. Hmmm, fav character for that one is Micah?

Dragon Riders of Pern is a toughie because it goes on and on and on. Master Robinton? F'Lar? Lessa? Ruth's rider whose name starts with a J, maybe it was Jax?

Crystal Singer seires is great, but I can't remember any of hte charactgers' names. Is Kilshandra the main character?

Vows & Honor, is that the Tarma/Kethry books? I'm voting for Kerowyn or Kethry's husband whose name escapes me again, but I think it starts wtih a J (what's with the J names I can't remember?)

The Xanth series is so long ago for me I can't remember anyone's names. I liked hte young male protagonist in a lot of them. The one that married the princess who always wore green.

Teh Belgariad and the Mallorean are my all-time favorite books. I have read them each about 100 times. They're like comfort food.

Wasn't Dor the overly brawny unintelligent guy? Or is that someone else. Gosh, it's just been so long.

As for rec's, if you read Mercedes Lackey, I'm assuming you've read the Vanyel series and the Arrows of the Queen series. I love those two.

The Last Rune series by Marc Anthony is great! And, it's finished, so that's always nice to be able to read six books in a row.

The Witch books by Kim Harrison are really good. I like her main character.

I'm also really enjoying Jim Butcher's Dresden files series. I think he's up to book 7.

L. A. Banks has written a vampire slayer series with an African American main character. It's pretty good, although it cracks me up that it has some critics quotes saying "much more original than Buffy." I don't want to spoil why that's a ridiculous statement.

Also, Kelly Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld are really good. I like Bitten and Stolen with a female werewolf as the main character.

It's so much fun to find people who love the same books I do. What's the last fun thing you read (not counting anything in Japanese).

Didn't look at other people's guesses, so I may be repeating things....

2. Luthe
4. Nathaniel
8. Muad'dib
10. Lessa
19. Can't remember the name. Starts with B. Maybe.

Been too long since I read Earthsea. I can't even think of names to guess.
