Ooh, nice! Those 6th, 7th and 8th photos are wonderfully framed and I love that sculpture perched amidst the grass and rock.

Thank you lady! You picked some of my favorite shots!

And that sculpture is by Peggy Detmers -- its called Tatanka. It's 150% size representation of a buffalo hunt. Each piece is a marvel of amazing detail - she trained as a biologist so her work is amazingly detailed and accurate.

Oh my glob, South Dakota is GORGEOUS. So much blue sky! And I love the foresty one you have labelled Tatanka. ♥ I dream of visiting a forest like that, all those fir trees! (Are they fir trees? They look kind of piney. We don't have many trees that shape here, and I just adore them.)

It was STUNNING when I was out there lady - the pics are pretty good but don't convey it all perfectly! The drawback of South Dakota is the winters... crazy snow. But the summer tries to make up for it!

And I think the trees are fir though I'm not 100% on that either... the whole Tatanka set was taken at this site outside in the hills close to Deadwood. So pretty!!

Wow, wonderful pictures! One day I'll get out west. And when I do, you can bet I'll be rocking the Dances With Wolves soundtrack, because honestly, it subconsciously popped into my head while scrolling through your photos.
