Sorry I've been persona non-grata lately, but Japanese has been killing me. Slowly. Ever get those headaches that sit just behind your eyes, as if some great big fluffy monster decided your nose was the perfect place to perch?

I'm slowly clawing my way back into some semblance of normalcy, though. Had that sense of relief that it was all over (for now) once I left the classroom. That sense that there's nothing more I can do - the test's turned in, answers checked, sentence strcutre followed and eyes crossed (since they don't have any i's to dot or t's to cross, anyway).

Found out my final isn't next week Friday, it's next week Saturday. At 9 am. I'm so excited about that I can barely contain myself.

Well, only two more days in this week to go. Phew.

thanks lady. And actually, I am, for any number of reasons. Japanese kind of rocks. But the crammed schedule is hard. I'm looking forward to Fall when things will slow down because I'll be taking it in a *normal* semester time frame again.

half of it is... and I think next week actually uses a bunch of the stuff we're learning now in new ways. Plus I've got a 5 hour plane flight this weekend to really jam it deeply into my brain.

Hang in there, kiddo! Taking your first foreign language is exhausting... it's like new paths have to be forged in the neurons. Every one after this one will be easier.

And fun LA trip coming up! Focus on that! Figure out how to say "women in Hollywood are vapid!" in Japanese... :)

Ok, but, you're right, the majority of them are kinda... what we'd call "slow" *grin*
