Crisis Averted

Nothing worthy or of note has really happened to me in the last few days. I've had new books, you see, so everything has taken a back seat to the reading of stories. And even though I suppose I could summarize plots for you, I doubt you'd really be that interested. I've talked to friends, played email chess with Tyler and made my first set of katakana flashcards ... Neil's made our reservations for the first of two trips back to CA - I'm excited about going back to actually see friends in the flesh. Besides, I like going to weddings in the summertime.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that my financial aid, after a near miss (where they decided that since I'd applied for my private loan before I'd applied for my FAFSA they couldn't or wouldn't count it... ), is now finally getting it's act together. Big sigh of relief on that one. Means no job for me this summer - no job but learning as much Japanese as I can.
So, what am I reading?
The Little Friend, Donna Tartt
The Crown of Silence, Storm Constantine
Monstrous Regiment, Terry Pratchett
Killing Time, Caleb Carr
the last half of the Anita Blake books, Laurel Hamilton
off to turn more pages...
