a) Because the day you saved the kitten from the ninja executioners while still managing to keep a soufle from falling I knew you were a guy I needed on my flist

b) Funnily enough I associate you with that icon of Riley and Xander i made for you a while ago - I think of your expressions as a mixture of both of their smiles

c) You're up front about things (as much as we all can be) and honest about not only your prides but your insecurities. That's pretty damn cool.

d) Remember when we saw the penguins and you dared me to jump over the zoo's gate and try and get one of them to fly back home? And I did and then you were the one who turned me over to the zoo police, except later you broke me out of the zoo jail with the help of the elephants and the giraffes? I think I like that memory best - your face framed on either side by a big-eared giraffe on one side and the elephant's long nose on the other.

a) I decided that I could give up the critical distance and get my fingers and toes messy by acknowledging straight up I was a fangirl of yours... clicking the little button and giving myself permission to stop haunting your lj and instead actually, you know, have the scrumptious stuff you put online show up on my flist.

b) The green color of your lj ( this one)... for some reason it seems illustrative of more than just your lj, but of a kind of green attitude towards things. You'd think my instantaneous answer would be Xander or Spike or the BtvsVerse, but nope, it's that color.

c) Thankfully you seem to be alternatively amused and pleased with most of my commentary (and since it's meant to amuse and please, but I think for some it would strike them as weird) i am profoundly grateful.

d) Remember when we found each other in that little Murano Glass store in Venice? And I couldn't believe I'd nearly ran into you and instead I bumped the counter and destroyed the whole display on that side of the shop and the mask fell on my face and you picked it up and ran into the alleyway? And I had to follow after you and the portly shop keeper chased us over the canals with a mask in one hand and a piece of broken glass in the other? And we laughed ourselves sick under the cafe counter that we hid under? I will never ever forget that.

e) Who do you like to read, i mean, in book form? Are there favorite authors?

a) How could I not? But more seriously, because not only are you a fantastic writer, you are a sweetheart with a brilliant brain and that always makes me to read.

b) can I associate you with Mir? The two of you are twined in my brain inextricably now :)

c) Your gentle heart makes me smile, and the fact that it shows in pretty much every line you type (at least to me, and even in silly comments) is just... awesome.

d) Remember the time we made breakfast for everybody in the apartment complex? We were all gathered around the pool with the waffle maker and the egg skillet and you were handing a plate to that silly guy in 3b with the crazy sunglasses. And the maple syrup fell in the pool, but it was all ok because the mermaid grabbed it before it sank into the water and everybody just laughed and laughed? I'll never forget that morning. You make damn fine waffles.

b) absolutely, you can. :D I love being associated with her. Kind of the reason I'm marrying her, you know. *g*

e) the school system is a little different here, so I didn't really "major" in anything. My degree is a Bachelor Es Lettres, so basically, a literature degree. BUT, because I'm a weirdo and I can't do things easily, my degree is made up of three "minors." (30 credits certificates type things) One is in French lit, the other in English lit, and the last one in Arts & Sciences (profiles in Linguistics and Literature--with a little history and sociology thrown in for good measure)..

ANYWAY, the easiest thing to say is that I have a Literature degree in two languages. :D

Because I couldn't believe you were actually on LJ (archaic as it is) and I was STOKED. now I find out i have to go to another blog to get updates?? evil, i tell you, evil.

That I never, from practically the first moments we started talking, felt like I had to worry about myself around you - we just clicked, and it wasn't ever drama-rama just ... acceptance. And it's because you rock.

d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
Ok, i've got a list of fifteen, but one of my favorite stories is the fact that you made such good friends with the guys at the Curry place that we had to take your picture with them when we went in to say our goodbyes, and I have this image of you grinning standing behind the counter with these guys who are just so pleased that you were interested in what they do and open-hearted about your love for their food and it just makes me grin.
