I moved into a place for $755 a month, utilities included. This last week the perfect storm of badness has happened to what looked like an ok apartment:
- garbage disposal went out
- housemate Asha's room got a mildew funk smell that was so strong she couldn't sleep in there
- air conditioner leak is making the ceiling in the living room bubble
- toilet leak
Now, that's an apocalypse of events as far as it goes, especially the air con since we had record breaking heat wave two days ago and couldn't use it. ( But, to make matters worse, )
As my friend Vettie says - there's probably a little truth and some lie to each of their stories.
So right now I'm living in a place with no air conditioning, where although I get along with the housemates the woman who I sublease from and the landlord she leases from are in an adversarial relationship, where my dog is having little dominance fights with her dog (not big ones, but enough that Asha came *this* close to asking me to leave the other day.... until I talked her down), and where I love the neighborhood and love the guy housemate and thought I could deal with the girl housemate crazy but ... I just don't want to.
I don't want to feel like I'm being threatened with eviction from the landlord if I bring problems to her, and I don't want to feel like I'm stuck watching my housemate, who I sub lease from, is in a battle with my landlord.
Most of all I want a quiet place where me and my dog can live and I can get some studying done. LOL.
