when buying yogurt in Japan be very careful to not only look at the picture on the yogurt container, but also be on the lookout for the tiny label that says アロイ (aloe) because it is not a pleasant experience when expecting only blueberries to be eating yogurt with blueberry and small chunks of aloe.  My tongue feels funny now.

there are tons of things with aloe in them here. but usually i try to avoid them. and interesting, i think, is definitely the right word.

they mix aloe with a lot of things - it's kind of like tapioca that way, except it's considered healthier. And it can be used for sunburns and stuff, but people used to (and still do) eat it. Still, ick is so the word.

Not that I'd drink the drink with aloe chunks - I'd leave them all for you. I was in Asakasa today and *seriously* contemplated having Italian but then decided that would be way too early to already start eating the american food.
