a jumbled mix of completely unrelated things

Is that my headspace right now?  Possibly.  It is also the Monday-space of the week back from spring break.  It is the definition of a girl who's typing on her brand spankin new fluffy computer (well, it's not the *exact* same model, but you get the idea).  Yes, the tax man gave me back some money and what did I do?  I spent it on electronics.  It's a weird weird weird world. 

The weekend was spent in halves - Saturday I papered.  Sunday I backed-up and loaded and restarted and installed and, oh, yes, originally went to all the stores to actually buy the new computer.  I was still configuring and crunching and munching as of 1:30 last night, trying to get my bearings on a new sea of different keys and strange things like battery life.  And vista.

Today, though, I count a success - I've managed to get up, make it to class, be informed, be fed and watered, write a short second paper, and now I'm moving back to the biggie that's due tomorrow.   I did however manage to forget my headphones so I can't actually listen to the film - but that's ok as the soundtrack is often more of a jarring distraction than a help. 

Huh, looking back on that, I'm not sure all those things were totally unrelated.  Surprise, surprise.

Vista is a frustrating miserable-making pile of poopy. I agree. But I suspect we will all have to get used to it, eventually.

Dude....you need to put Windows XP on that bitch. What's the point of getting a fast new laptop....and then clugging it up with a lame bloated OS? My dad has Vista on his computer and it is HORRIBLE. Or put Ubuntu on. That was what you were using when you were logged in on my computer. And it has all of the cool special effects that vista trys to achieve with their aero interface.

It's a community Blog for nwbeies, Mahabub bhai. So please try to elaborate a little more. That way every newbie will be benefited. And bro please try to do it in a single post. You know nwbeies like me always loose patience very fast. Ooh pretty. I looked at one like that. Sadly i bought a different one, but this was a few years back. My battery is dreadful (about an hour nbow, it REALLY needs replacing), but i don't have any Vista computers. So... ah, good luck with that. It hurts my head even thinking about it. ;)

My battery on my old computer wasn't even able to function without being plugged in - i feel your pain! it's the worst part of having a laptop, the quick wearing out of batteries.

and vista is... well, not as horrible or as dire as friends warned. So that's a good :D Of course, maybe I'm just being brainwashed by the subliminals in the screensaver or something, too

*snort* Well, i guess sooner or later we'll all have to expose ourselves to the subliminals... Knowing Windows, XP probably came with an inbuilt self-destruct for 2010. ;)
