FONDUE!

We broke in my christmas present (an electric fondue pot) and let me tell you - there is *nothing* better than an electric fondue pot, except perhaps a nonstick electric fondue pot.  It meant I didn't even have to work at getting the cheese off before we did the chocolate. Ok, about a pound of cheese. In it we dipped crusty french bread and a slightly denser rosmarry sourdough bread. And both red and green apples. And cauliflower (that one wasn't my idea, trust me, but it was actually pretty good). Then, after we'd sated ourselves on cheese, taken a break, and come back to the table, it was time for the Vanilla-chocolate fondue. That's chocolate fondue with lovely vanilla in it... and in there we had whole-food marshmallows, more apples, raspberries, strawberries, pound cake, and cookies.

Oh, and we introduced D to Twin Peaks.  It's been years since we watched it last, but it holds up pretty damn well in my opinion.  David Lynch is a mastermind of little scenes and frightening actors.  The thing that amazes me is that this show was actually on prime time tv.  Where, oh where, have the airwaves gone?

I lost my work ethic around Thursday, and have been goofing off for ages.  I'll be trying to read tomorrow morning before I have to leave for coffee.  But it's coffee!  And friends!  Luckily there's always Monday.

Fondue is great! Tried it for the first time myself a few months ago with tons of fruit and chocolate. Also, with all that fruit, you can eat as much chocolate as you want without feeling bad. It's brill :D

Yay fondue! I love fondue! [livejournal.com profile] editornia does a fantastic West Country version that's sort of modified with half cheddar, half smoked cheese and OMFGCHEESEGASM.

I've got a Jaffa (chocolate/orange) fondue recipe if you're interested. You can always leave out the orange part and kill yourself on the chocolate.

Oh no, you don't have to have actual Jaffas in the Jaffa fondue, it involves more biglots dark chocolate with orange zest and honey.

I'll have to hit up [livejournal.com profile] editornia for her West Country recipe and post it, because omgsogood. *drools*

I bought my aunt a fondue pot for Christmas. Not sure if she's used it yet.

Mmmm, fondue!!! Fondue just rocks. ::nods:: I'm glad your show held up well, sweetie! I always hate it when I rewatch something I loved years ago, and it turns out to be crap. ::nods::
