Last Weekend of Freedom

It's been a lovely last several days before I start school again tomorrow...
Friday I met with my advisor, getting back my evals from the class I TA'd (all in all not bad, although I did have three people who didn't like me at all... but hey, that's pretty good out of a class of 47), and comments on my final paper (for which I got not only an A, but also an acknowledgement from my professor that she was very pleased with the level of my analysis and everything! WOOT!). I spent the afternoon with her, then gathered grammar books from the library so I can start working on Monday on my independant study. Oh, and I filled out some forms.
Saturday was a complete and utter loaf day! And D and I had a girlie movie night (of course, our idea of girlie movies is Stardust and Shoot Em Up, both of which were awesome in their own way. We had popcorn and chocolate and turned off all the lights and giggled and got happy and silly under the influence of Neil Gaiman humor and lots and lots of gunfights.
Today we drove out to the Texas Hill country to visit friends at their new house and goof around out there. They had adorable kittens, and a friend of theirs visited with super sweet dogs (vizslas, which are a very smart, very sweet breed), and there were super yummy tacos. For those of you vegitarians out there, consider trying to fry your avacado slices when making tacos (and heck, non vegies as well). They're frigging dynamite. The hill country is beautiful, the house is beautiful, and the company was beautiful too. And we even made a fire and had a crazy ice cream tasting party.
Now I'm off to start homework, like a good little student.
