Done because
dara_starscream said I am WOMAN (and really, how can anyone not respond to that kind of call to arms?):
1) Total number of films you own on DVD/video: Probably around 150
2) The last film I bought: Kill Bill Vol. 1
3) The last film I watched: Kung Fu Hustle. And yes, it was actually funny and totally worth the money
4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Film one: Bladerunner. Got me hooked on sci-fi, got me hooked on noir, got me hooked on Harrison Ford, gave my my first glimpse of a fetishized Japan. What else can you really ask for in a movie?
Film two: LA Story. Everything in that story is absolutely true. And it made me love LA before I knew LA. Then I watched it again when I lived there and loved them both all the more. Watch it now and get nostalgic
Film three: The Professional. If ever there was a movie willing to stand up over repeated watching, it's this one. Luc Besson, Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman. True love, guns, and things that don't have to be said.
Film four: Underworld. I know, it was pretty awful. But it has tasty vampires all dressed up in leather, noble and evil werewolves, and ... swords and blood. I like it. Not saying it's one of the top movies ever made, just that I like it. Hackers would also go in this category. I love Angelina Jolie and Johnny Lee Miller. Love them. Want to molest them. Nuf said.
Film five: Frightners. Slightly funny, slightly macabre, a little bit of horror, and Michael J. Fox, who I've loved since Family Ties.
5) Which five people are you passing the baton onto? And why?
gray_ghost, because I dragged him to LJ so I can make him do this kind of stuff... c'mon tyler, you know you want to
flavordav, because I'm curious
sonder, because I doubt he'll actually do it (yes, I know you hate memes, i read that post. at least this one actually *tells* me something)
glimmergirl, because all work and no play... isn't right
malnpudl, because it sounds like you can use a break from ficcy stress
