My head is going to explode.

And, poor Neil tried to help me out and I'm sure his is just as achy as mine.
Let me see if I can explain this intelligibly:
UT has a Summer Session I & II. I want to take Japanese I & II over the summer, but only if I can do it with financial aid. Since they haven't completed processing my financial aid application yet, I don't know if I can do that. If I can, and I pass the classes, I'll be able to start 2nd Yr Japanese I in the fall. That'd be great.
However.
Since I don't know if I can do that, I also have to figure out a schedule that works with all three stages of Japanese classes (because what if I pass Japanese I, but don't pass Japanese II? Or, if I only get enough money to do one summer session? Or if I need all the money for fall and can't take anything till next year?). The annoying thing is that all three Japanese classes have different schedules - JI is earliest, JII is end of day, and 2nd Yr JI is middle of the day. Which means that I can't plan around them all! So I've got three schedules and half a dozen contingency plans...
The only silver lining is that the schedule I worked out for 2nd Yr JI will allow for JII to substitute in. Unfortunately, the thing I'm not exactly certain of, yet, is whether the vaunted automated system will even let me register for either JII or 2nd Yr JI because I won't have satisfied the requirements yet!
Tomorrow morning, when I sign up for both sessions of Summer School and Fall all in one fell swoop, I guess I'll see.
grrrrf.
There are two other things that still make this all ok.
The first: In all schedules there is room for this class...
ANS 372 13-GYPSY LANGUAGE & CULTURE: LINGUISTIC INTRODUCTION TO ROMANI; RELATIONSHIP TO LANGUAGES OF INDIA; HISTORY FROM 280 BC; MODERN DIALECTS AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARD LANGUAGE; HISTORY AND CULTURE AS REFLECTED IN THE LANGUAGE.
The second: If I'm stuck taking Japanese I because I can't do it over the summer, I will also get to take ANS 372 BUDDHIST ART!

And I'm a little in love with it too, and it's only been since January that it's had me in its clutches. It's no wonder everyone's got the bumper stickers.

Date: 2005-04-19 01:15 am (UTC)Thank goodness my grad program doesn't offer enough classes to create scheduling conflicts, I'm not sure I could handle it anymore.

Ten points if you can guess what movie I'm riffing.
It'll be cool if you can pull it off, but I think I speak for the masses, not to mention your gorgeous hunk of man meat, when I say I like your brain in your skull where it belongs.
