And I love this particular icon that I'm using because ... it's pretty, and it's understated, and it's Giles.  BUT DAMN that was hard.

ok, totally has to be this one:



(not that you don't have some incredible icons, because this one is SO damn hot... and so are the HLaurie ones, and ... gah! too many choices)

BUT, I chose the one above as my number one because it's sooo pretty, and I don't even know the show. It's eyecatching every time you use it, and the colors are great, and I can see the hotness kind of leaping from the icon!

Oh, yes! It's one of those "distilled essence" icons that I love so very much. That is Benton Fraser, and he really is that hot -- not to mention so pretty that it hurts to look at him.

And the other one, that's by skater_g8r. Isn't it stunning? She does such beautiful work.

GAH. TOO many choices. Seriously. too many. i think my brain almost exploded. In a good way.

Although, to be honest, this one:

is totally the one that gets me. I really like the clarity of the whites in his face, the lovely texture of his clothes AND the way the text is very soft yet totally readable.

OTOH, these are also my favorites:

I know you love Ruuger's icons, and I do too, and this one has many of the same qualities as the one above that makes me love it.


Because it's a perfect Giles "i'm smarter than you" kind of pose! and it always makes me want to grin when i see it.

OK, once again, way too many choices. But you know, every time you use this icon I totally end up lusting after it a little bit, so I think it has to be this one:



It's one of those perfect moment kinds of things. It totally makes me smile, and it's really lovely coloring and text, and ... it's just a happy icon.

BUT, a very close runner up is this one:



It's really a lovely laugh, and the white balance is so cool. I actually am in envy. Hee.

Beautiful cropping, beautiful look, love the text and the textures and brushes. And even though it's totally layered, it's still pretty understated.

man, this is HARD. Ok, these are the two that I adore the most, out of so many choices...



I love the way the white is so subtle that it looks like broken glass to me.. and the coloring is delicate and not heavy handed. Also, with most icons that are full face like this you generally feel like the face is pushing at the boundaries, but this icon doesn't feel shoved at all - just delicate.

but then there's this one:



which I adore - the text, the cap, and the whole tone is just ... SEXY. that look gets me every time...

I'm totally with you on the first one. There's something about the composition of that icon that kind of sings. It's subtle, but there's so much emotion in such a small image...

As for the second, also a great one. The only things I might wish different were for the font to be clearer and the overall coloring to be a little less green. Green is not a sexy color, to me...

Ok, out of yours (which I love - so much B/G goodness!), I think my favorite is this one:



partially because I love the way they're framed - it's such a quite and sweet moment. The colors are great and the text looks lovely with it. Quite yummy all together!

Although, the icon you just commented with has to be a runner up - brilliant way to cap that scene and bring subtle color into it.

(and you've totally picked one of my current favoritest of my icons - Xander is totally cute in that pic, and i love how sharp it came out!)

actually, for people who have my icons, i've chosen icons other than my own - i'm still in the process of trying to make the perfect icon, but IMO i haven't done it yet and am still a long way off.

that being said, this is SO my favorite of all of your icons, including the ones you have from me:



It's beautiful. I love the composition. I love the colors. I love the moment. And it says so much without words.

Speaking of which, you know how i started moving away from text on icons? well you were definitely part of that motivation... and now i'm liking textless icons more and more.

That's quite possibly my favorite as well, for both the reasons you stated and because it's also one I uploaded specifically to use when having spammy lj conversations in our journals. I'm pleased you picked that one.

well, it just confused me (something to do with being easily confused, i'll bet... ) but then i rarely upload my icons because i don't really like them. unless they're injokes it's just easier to find ones other people have made. and there's so many other pretty ones that people who actually have photoshop make - plus i'm rather to busy to spend the time on getting it perfect. *eyerolls self*

yah - i had this dumb idea that i'd work harder on making better icons if i used my personal shame as a goad ... some weird logic that sorta went "i'll only use my icons, and that way i'll get better because i will have to make icons i'm happy to use" or something like that

I think this is my favorite. It's sexy, totally sexy. Totally yummy sexy. I love the colors, and the way the textures compliment the fabric of the dress, and damn those are hot legs. YUM.

BUT, this is the one i first thought I was going to pick...



because it's so perfect - really crisp image, gets just enough of the woman's head to make me feel sleepy, and has really pretty whites and darks. OH, and I feel an emotional connection! especially after last semester.

beyond that, i adore all of your quote icons. they're just hot.

Haha, yeah, the second one PERFECTLY summed up second semester last year. And given that i have all early starts again, i reckon that little girl up there will be me in the library come the afternoon. Sleeping over Greek homework is about to become a permanent fixture in my life for the next 3 years...

(this way lies madness, trust me). and i keep tempting myself with an overhaul where i throw 'em all out and start fresh, but then i can't quite force it. someday though!

hahahahaa. one of my friends made the mistake of having the lj notify button checked for whenever i upload a new icon.... unfortunately, i do just that every six months or so. delete EVERY single one, obsess over what new ones to use, reupload them, and spend six or so hours adding appropriate quotes. :D

Isn't that a great one? I think I found it on an icon community somewhere, and it's inspired me to make more crops of SMG that don't necessarily get the whole face. I still tend to go for ones that are at least half face, though, like this one (points) but I'm trying to break the habit.
