Tomorrow is my last day of freedom....
Jan. 15th, 2007 09:27 pmI feel like I'm almost ready to go to school... almost.
however, the fly in the works remains (work)...
Today I got to work... mostly on time, mostly, and completed an Admin Manual. The boss lets me know that she's going to hire the woman she thought she was going to hire on Friday. She heads downstairs to make arrangements for this new woman to come in, and comes back up and informs me I can start training her on Wednesday.
Even though on Friday we'd discussed I'd train her on Thursday (when we spoke about my hours last week Friday). She even wrote it down. Sigh. Wrote it down, but didn't actually remember what I'd said...So I'm scheduled from 8 am - 11 am M/W/F for the next two weeks.
The unfortunate part is that she called me this afternoon, and the person she was going to hire accepted the job, then later declined it. So as of right now, there is no replacement.
Which means on Wednesday, when I start classes, I also get to hop onto my new schedule of WORK in the mornings. I truly hate mornings. Two weeks. Two weeks. Two weeks.
We had yummy Kerby Lane breakfast when I got home from work though! My favorite man took me out to enjoy queso, scrambled eggs, avocado, tomato, and english muffin... and grapefruit, the breakfast food of the gods. No, really, I'm serious.
Now we're watching the rain freeze as it tries to drip off the roof ... we're having an unusually cold storm in Austin and apparently things are closing all over the place because Texans can't handle frost (or, at the least, Austin people aren't used to it). It's dropping down below freezing for the next day. The university's closed tomorrow, even! heee!
