Ummm....

Just finished a 600 word Japanese composition about my exciting notification that I got into grad school.  YAY.  My brain feels like it's been turned inside out.  YAY!

Next on the list is a short paper compairing the Tales of the Heike and the Sauptikaparvan of the Mahabharata.  I really detest epic poetry.  And these ancient stories that, when taken in a single chapter are mostly ok, but taken one on top of the other on top of the other just slide into an endless array of warriors dying, killing themselves, or taking holy orders.... sometimes punctuated by women who show up and take monastic orders as well.  I have absolutely NO idea how I'm going to write about the different portrayls of death since they all merge into a long line of endless beheddings and other butchery.

However, the light at the end of the tunnel is that I have an untranslatable piece to read for Japanese this week and a test at the end of it!  Goodie!

Oh, and I have my maleslashmini due tomorrow and have about 500 words of unproductive starts.  But I will get there, because I signed up for the damn thing, and that's just the way it's going to be.

Speaking of being around - sadly I don't know how often I'm going to be updating/around lj (although, of course as soon as I say that I tend to cling like a leech and comment on everybody's posts every time they post).  But we've managed to land ourselves a website contract, and so in whatever free time I have left over from doing school work and research (because those papers are looming!) I will be designing and integrating.  On the good side, at the end of it I may actually have enough money to fix my car and buy us some drapes or something... or maybe get started on the garden.  We'll see what happens.  So it's worthwhile to do, but it means that the free time I thought I had is heading south for the winter.

My brain is beginning to unkink from the uncomforable attempt on my part to think things out in a different language.  Someday I'm going to get the hang of that and it will come easily.  I think at this point I sound like a 5 year old, so I'm aiming for 10...

Ewwww enough of this school and homework nonsense. (Actually, I really envy you for being in school right now.) More importantly, Neil just sent me your phone numbers again since I lost all my numbers when I fell into a creek while chasing Pericles and keeping him from going over the cliff. Phone was fried and some other junk, blah blah, I finally have a working phone. Soo... most importantly... how would you like to celebrate your upcoming birthday? We miss you guys a lot and would love to celebrate with you, if you don't mind the company. :)

Sounds like total murder to me! Reading a lot of epic poetry all about death and such, think I will stick to the Greek epics.

Good luck on all your endevours.
