So, you added me as a friend once, huh...
May. 19th, 2006 11:06 pmWell, now that
elizabuffy's doing the friend meme, I thought I'd do something similar that I've been wanting to do for a LONG time.
It's a little kinda getting to know you, how's it going, what's going on kind of thing (stolen from
entrenous88, because it's a damn fine idea). I'm asking EVERY ONE on my flist to do it, and then hopefully new friends who add me in the future will do it too. Bascially, you're all invited to play!!
You wise and intreped reader! You accepted the challenge! thank you! Please, answer any or all or some of the following questions in the comments... I don't care if it's short answers or long missives (really! I want to know about you).
What is your CURRENT favorite:

Date: 2006-05-20 04:10 am (UTC)What is your CURRENT favorite:
+ animal: in real life? dogs. Metaphorically? I like lizards.
+ drink. Tied. Merlot and beer.
+ TV show. Right now I'm catching up on the past seasons of Stargate SG-1. Iwouldn't say it's my favorite TV show, but it's the one I'm spending the most time on right now. All time fav of course would be Buffy.
+ dessert. Oh, dear. I'm not much of a sweets person, but I do enjoy a nice cheesecake now and then. Or homemade birthday cake.
+ music to dance to. Dance? I'm too old to dance! I'm almost dead! But I have been known to dance along to the pelvic thrust in RHPS.
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want). Oh, so many. All of Dorothy Sayer's Lord Peter mysteries. All of Susan Howatch's Church of England Series. Tolkien and Georgette Heyer.
+ Same goes for movie...Philadephia Story. Local Hero.
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend? Hee! I'd take you to Austin! Oh, wait, you live there. OK, I'd take you to the German restaurant in Walburg.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated) I'm all over the place these days... the jossverse, obviously, but also getting very into Canadian TV and SG-1
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had.

And, I'm stopping there. Dog needs out, and I am tired. Thanks for letting me play!

Date: 2006-05-20 04:12 am (UTC)+ animal -- domestic = cat (Felix! My baby!), wild = lynx
+ drink -- apple martini (yep, I am a girlie girl)
+ TV show -- nothing on air currently, but hey, off air, gotta be Buffy!
+ dessert -- anything chocolate. Give me a lovely dark chocolate torte with rasberries any day of the week
+ music to dance to -- goth techno
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want). Robyn McKinley's "The Hero and the Crown". I read it whenever I'm sick - it's one of those comfort books for me. A story about a girl that vanquishes a dragon. Yet, not the usual 'she falls in love with the prince' kind of thing. It's a must read for every 14 year old girl.
+ Same goes for movie... Ok, now I reveal the true loser-ness of Me. Underworld. Yeah, it's not sophisticated, it's not particularly great, but give me vampires, wherewolves, and hot chicks with glowing blue eyes any day of the week.
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend? The Umlaff Sculpture Gardens. They're this little park where a collection of Umlaff sculputures are collected, with a beautiful pond and benches to read under the trees. Even if you don't like sculpture, it's a lovely little tucked away place in the middle of the city.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? Favorite fandom & pairing: Btvs, Buffy/Giles If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? ha. If you've gotten over the "ewww! He's like a father to her!" check out Anne Haight's Autumnal Equinox
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had. Favorite restaurant of all time is a little Greek place in LA called Sophie. 2nd favorites (because it's really kind of a three way tie) are Pastis (also in WeHo), and Bossa Nova (on Sunset) that makes a bacon wrapped chicken covered in gorgonzola cheese sauce that is freakishly addictive. Best meal, however, goes to the 7 course meal we cooked for Maija's 30th birthday - 14 people, 7 different courses, 3 cooks (me, Neil and Julien), amazing food and the best time. I will never forget it.

+ For a story/show/film to grab my attention, it has to have a character who is an anti-hero of some sort.
+ I never thought I liked Giles/Xander genre/category of fic, until I read Act of Nature by Wesleysgirl and Janedavitt.
+ I'll read almost any pairing/fandom/type of writing, so long as it has Giles in it.
+ My favorite type of graphic or vid always features something elegant, playful, or clean. I'm enamoured of graphics that are subtle (although nothing I've made has ever lived up to any of my standards... I'm not sure if I'm an admirer of my own work)
+ Once you get to know me, you'll never remember how you lived without my icons? Sparkling personality? Hugs. Definitely hugs.
+ I found your lj through HA! it's my own LJ. I made it.

Date: 2006-05-20 04:24 am (UTC)Speaking of books, I love Dorothy Sayers! I haven't read her in years... maybe a trip to half price is in order...
I do have you in a catch 22 with Austin, don't i? although I wouldn't necessarily call the entire city of the beaten path. ;) But German restaurants sound good! How far away is Walburgh.
LOL, have fun in SG1 land!
Glad you had fun! Thanks for playing!!! And pet Riley for me when you read this. He sounds cuter by the day.

Date: 2006-05-20 04:42 am (UTC)+ animal Cats (always and forever)
+ drink Caol Ila 12-year-old single malt
+ TV show Slings & Arrows
+ dessert creme brulee (and yes, I'm missing a few diacritical marks)
+ music to dance to Anything upbeat and bouncy (Ragdoll and Little Latin Lupe Lu are two favorites)
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want). Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand -- it's just a beatiful end of the world story and a damn fine read (except for John Galt's speech which goes for 50 pages near the end; I still haven't read that chapter).
+ Same goes for movie... Wit with Emma Thompson, I think. Snarky, funny and incredibly moving, I always cry at certain points during the movie.
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend? City Club, I think. Great people-watching and generally good music for those inclined to dance.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated) At the moment, due South is my happy fandom, with Kowalski/Fraser as the pairing. I think the most perfect fanfic I've read in any fandom is Chicago's Most Wanted (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/CMWanted.html)by Speranza. It could easily have been an episode of the show.
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had. Zingerman's Roadhouse in Ann Arbor is the perfect restaurant, especially if you're a meat eater. You get karma points by eating there, because all the meat started out as free-range animals. Pricey, but very, very good.

+ I'll read almost any pairing/fandom/type of writing, so long as it has an interesting story concept and decent spelling and grammar.
+ My favorite type of

Fuzzy Navels. Like eating a peach. An evil peach.
As Time Goes By. It kinda grows on you.
Arnie's fudge-covered cheesecake.
I'm trying to develop a taste for club techno-type stuff.
Spending time:
Oh lots. I've reread most of the books I have at least once. Lately The Grapes of Wrath has been flipped through. Also The Corrections. Oh, and 1984 Because they're really good books, silly nilly.
I just picked up a copy of Ocean's Eleven (the remake that was released a few years ago). I love how it's put together. Much delight.
Blues on the Mall. Every summer the local classic rock station (it ruled up until they got rid of Tony Gates and Uncle Buck in the morning, the new guy just isn't funny) hosts a live blues festival downtown on Tuesday evenings, weather permitting.
Pah-leeze. It's me you're talking to. I haven't encountered anything new lately (could you pester Wenchie? Maybe if we all pester her she'll write more.), but I've been rereading VS8.
The best meal I've ever had, was this last birthday at Benihahas in Detroit. It's an Asian cuisine place where the chefs cook at your table. I haven't had that much fun in a long time, and it ties for Best Birthday Ever (ties with eighteenth, Stars on Ice, saw Torvill and Dean).
Random:
-witty, long-legged, and a British accent helps.
-slash, until I read L'Historie d'Obi (http://www.squidge.org/~ktnb/infirmary/stories/lhdo1.html).
-plausibility. I can read Qui/Obi from certain writers, but I haven't found a fic yet that can make Spuffy work for me.
-elegant writing, engaging stories, and yeah, hot sex helps a lot.
-uh . . . beef . . . stew?
-All the Jellies. I needed a beta. You answered my distress call. You sweet. (smootchie!)

+ TV show = buffy, again, duh...my name's elizabuffy, afterall ;)
+ dessert = these food questions are too hard...i ♥ food so much...umm..maybe creme brulee? It may not be my favourite dessert of all i've had, but it's something I come back to again and again.

+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had. = best meal was at the savoy grill room, the food was superb, as was the service and atmosphere... there was sea bass over lentils, truffle soup, rice pudding with marinated pears, and $50 glasses of champagne...afterward? there was watching tony head perform AND meeting him *sigh* that was one of the best nights of my life :)

Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want): All the Harry Potter books, because I really do love the characters, and they're relaxing for me to re-read.
+ Same goes for movie: Velvet Goldmine, though I'm not certain it's due to any artistic merit, though it's a very well done film. I've seen it so many times that it's one I can watch over again while doing other things. So. Plus, it has glitter and pretties in it.
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend? Um. It's New Jersey, so I'm not sure why you'd want to come here. Also, I don't think I know anything rare and wonderful to do, but I'd probably take you to New Brunswick for lunch and to walk around by Rutgers, because I know the area well and I love it.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated) Buffy fandom is still my current favorite, and there is much love for most permutations of Willow/Buffy/Giles/Wesley. :) I also still have a great deal of love for Star Wars fandom and would still rec. the Master Apprentice archive as one of the best SW slash sites.
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had. OMG TINGA. Local Mexican place with just amazingly yummy food. They have a Californian Burrito, which is just rice, beans, guacamole, cheese and some salsa, but it's like HEAVEN in a soft flour tortilla.

Date: 2006-05-20 10:27 am (UTC)What is your CURRENT favorite:
+ animal
Dogs. Always and forever.
+ drink
Strong black tea made with really good water, either hot or iced, nothing added. My everyday brand is Red Rose. For special occasions, it's Lifeboat, imported from England.
+ TV show
Currently airing? I'd be hard pressed to choose between Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis; it would hurt me to pick one over the other.
Of those no longer airing, most definitely due South, even over Buffy (and that's saying a lot). It's utterly stolen my heart.
+ dessert: Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream
+ music to dance to: I don't dance. Always wished I could. I do my dancing on my back. ;-)
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want).
Putting nonfiction/reference books aside, I have a couple of fiction authors I dearly love and reread every five years or so. Dick Francis is one who's been a favorite for 25 years. He writes action/adventure mysteries set in the world of British horseracing; his writing is clean and spare, not a word wasted. I want to be his female characters; I want to marry the men... or at least sleep with them. *g* Dana Stabenow is fast becoming another. Both of her Alaskan mystery series have fascinating and often engaging continuing casts of characters from both the white and Native communities. The books offer fascinating glimpses into many facets of Alaskan life and culture; besides, they're a fun read. Also I am absolutely convinced from reading her work that if I ever met her, we'd get along gangbusters. I like that.
+ Same goes for movie...
I have seen Last of the Dogmen probably eight times and I never, ever get tired of it. It's not a great movie, but it's a good one, and I love the way it makes me feel. And it doesn't hurt that the cast includes the best canine character (and actor) that I've ever seen on large or small screen. ;-)
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend?
Everything where I live is off the beaten path. *g* If you visited here, I'd drive you up the coast on Highway 101 to Trinidad and we'd have breakfast at the little restaurant on the pier, and afterwards we'd walk out on the pier and try to spot sea lions and sea otters scavenging for whatever the commercial fishermen have left behind.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated)
Oh, God, due South! The RayK/Fraser love is strong in this one! *g* Here's why. (http://community.livejournal.com/ship_manifesto/13160.html) Read the essay. Read the first three stories. Fall in love. Let me send you DVDs. Let me hook you up with downloads. Let me shower you with recs. Let me get you hooked on Paul Gross's unearthly beauty and his liquid sex voice (oh dear lord). And Callum Keith Rennie... sex on legs. Sex. On. Legs.
And once you're hooked, I'll lure you, siren like, into the world of other Paul Gross and CKR media... which will lead you to Hugh Dillon and Hard Core Logo... *chortles with maniacal glee*
Um. Not that I'm passionate about it or anything. *g*

Date: 2006-05-20 10:28 am (UTC)+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had.
Oh, golly. It's been 25 years... but back when I was with Howard, my fireman ex, living in the Bay Area, he once took me to Masa's in San Francisco for dinner. They only take reservations precisely four weeks (to the day) in advance of the day you want to dine, and you have to park on the phone and hope to be one of the lucky few who gets through before they book all the tables for the day. We got lucky. I don't remember the details of the meal, just that every bite of every dish was utterly exquisite. We asked the waiter (or the sommelier? I've forgotten) to bring us the best wine to complement each course -- a glass for Howard, a two-ounce taste for me since I was a lightweight back in those days -- and it was sheer heaven. I do remember that it ended with a Grand Marnier souffle that absolutely floated off the plate. Dear lord. Better than sex. Seriously.

I can't really fill that one in. I'll read damn near anything -- with very few exceptions, those I can think of at the moment being incest, scat, and rape/torture as porn -- as long as it's well written.
The closest I can come is probably the Paving Stones series by Mad Poetess and Wolfling (which I'm not linking only because I assume you've already read it), which showed me how astonishingly intimate and incredibly erotic fisting can be. Outstanding fic series. Absolutely brilliant and remarkably moving.
+ I'll read almost any pairing/fandom/type of writing, so long as it has really good characterization and outstanding writing. (Which is to say, that's what it takes to get me to read outside my usual fandoms/pairings.)
+ My favorite type of graphic or vid always features good characterization -- something that makes me say "Yes! That's him (or her) exactly!"
+ Once you get to know me, you'll never remember how you lived without my masturbatory fantasy posts. ;-)
+ I found your lj through... you know, I really can't remember, it was that long ago. Giles fandom, of course, but I forget exactly how and where we first connected.

Date: 2006-05-20 03:06 pm (UTC)+ animal - Horse, cat, dog (three-way tie, I love them all)
+ drink - Wine (a crisp sauvigon blanc)
+ TV show - always will be BtVS and AtS, but currently running show would be Bones. I don't watch many shows really.
+ dessert - Tiramisu
+ music to dance to - 80s and 90s rave and disco music mixes, like "It's a Sin", " Total Eclipse of the Heart" or "I Feel Love"
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want) - Since I discovered fanfic i haven't been reading books much. I guess it'll come back to me one day. But in the past, before fanfic, I used to read anything by Anne Rivers Siddons over and over like Peachtree Road or Colony or Up Island, because I can always relate her stories to my life.
+ Same goes for movie - Teen flicks from the 80s, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in PInk, St. Elmos Fire
+ If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend? - I'd take you down to what the locals believe is the real crossroads, where if you go there alone at midnight, the devil will come along and make a deal with you for your soul.
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated) - BtVS and AtS. I'm a devout Spike/Angel shipper.
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had - my favorite restaurant is Antoine's in New Orleans. Best creole food ever!

+ For a story/show/film to grab my attention, it has to have a character who is... - a powerful and sexy man who is a dom type.
+ I never thought I liked cross dressing genre/category of fic, until I read... - Red Panty Pony by Spankspike.
+ I'll read almost any pairing/fandom/type of writing, so long as it has... - nothing about Spuffy. (Don't kill me, my spuffy friends. I still love you.)
+ My favorite type of graphic or vid always features... - naked and sweet Spangel.
+ Once you get to know me, you'll never remember how you lived without my... - boy pic posts!
+ I found your lj through (be they friend or other site)... - I think it was your icons that brought me to you. I'm not sure exactly, but I thought you were cool, so I friended.

Date: 2006-05-20 04:20 pm (UTC)Current favorite drink: Non-alcoholic would be diet soda of whatever variety. I just bought a couple twelve packs yesterday and none of them were the same variety.
Alcoholic is an amaretto sour or a cuba libre.
Current favorite TV show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. I don't watch TV but I watch DVDs of these whenever I feel like watching something other than a movie.
Current favorite dessert: Fruit, I guess. I'm not much of a dessert person at all but when I want something, I try to eat fruit due to my diet. Cantaloupe is what I generally eat.
Current favorite music to dance to: I do not dance. The most I do is move my arms somewhat rhythmically or bob my head.
Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want): In recent years, I have not read any book for a second time because I do not read anywhere near as often as I used to but growing up, I reread Prime Directive (a Star Trek novel) at least half a dozen times. I couldn't really tell you why except that it gave an impression of Trek life not relating to Starfleet and made the universe feel real for once.
Name a movie you've seen over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-viewing (if you want): Being only two to three hours long, this list is much longer and would include almost every movie in my (small-ish) collection. I know I've seen Garden State around ten times in only the two years it's been out so I guess it would apply the most and it's just because it's about a character I identify with doing what I wish I could. Discovering himself and making life right after years of feeling empty and directionless.
If i visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend?: In Cleveland? I have no idea. Anything that is of interest to do around here everyone knows about because it's the only thing to do. I would probably take you to Cherokee National Forest and the Ocoee River region. It's beautiful up there and we could have a picnic and just walk some trails while talking. There's a beautiful waterfall about two miles from Lake Chilhowie that I think you might like and the water is freezing even in summer.
What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any?: Joss Whedon in general (Buffy pairings center around Willow so Willow/Oz, Willow/Xander, and Willow/Tara are my favorites but I don't write or even read slash), Star Trek, and, I guess, the X-Men universe although I'm very much a neophyte in that one. I have no links.
Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had: My favorite restaurant is, sadly, a Chinese buffet because I am a gluttonous American and because I have not had time to rediscover anything particularly good since returning home.
For a story/show/film to grab my attention, it has to have a character who is interesting? I get into shows based on premises. It's only later that the characters matter.
I never thought I liked ______________ genre/category of fic, until I read ______________.
I'll read almost any pairing/fandom/type of writing, so long as it has ______________.

I'm not a fandomy person and don't read fic.

Date: 2006-05-20 05:52 pm (UTC)What's As Time Goes By? Although anything that's a series is implicitly addictive I think.
Oh, and Techno club stuff is the *best* to walk to. I always get a little breathless, but I end up making it to my destination with a beat.
HEEE! I'm a silly nilly! But I'm sad to say I've never been a fan of Steinbeck (I know, I suck... but for some reason all those American authors around that time make me cry). Now 1984 ROCKS and is an excercise in paranoia. Woot.
And I loved Oceans Eleven (both the new and the old)! You're totally right - fun watching it all come together.
Benihanas is SO much fun! I love their knife tricks, and their terrayaki chicken. MMMM. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it.
OO! Fic reck! I'm going to consider dipping outside of my fandom to go read your Obi fic. And bout the spuffy - I categorically run screaming (seriously, SCREAMING) away from it, except for fics written by http://eurydice72.livejournal.com/profile - she redeemed Spike for me.
And beef stew!! YUM! ;)
NO, YOU'RE SWEET! *smooches you with a thousand smoochies* And I'm really glad I responded to that beta call. Thanks for answering my silly questions lady!

Date: 2006-05-20 05:59 pm (UTC)But my food questions weren't too hard, right? Because I didn't want to be evil! I just wanted to make myself hungry apparantly, since now everything I read makes my tummy sit up and say MMMMM. Especially when you describe the Savoy grill!
And I'll let you off the hook for not providing me links, because I'm guessing I know which ones you'd give me! hee.
You made me go AWWWWWWWW with the graphics comment!! I'll always be your icon bitch baby!! *snuggles you tightly*
Oh, and the 'once you get to know me' thing is dreadful to answer, I know, I'm sorry. But now that I've gotten to know you, *I* know I can't live without you - giddy joy, snark, the ability to talk about nothing and everything all at once - it's all US!
And I think I figured out your answers without you bolding 'em, so don't you worry! Thanks for playing darling girl!!

Date: 2006-05-20 06:36 pm (UTC)+ animal: Cats, naturally! Specifically, my babies, Misty and Turtle. Mushroom, Mortimer, and Cricket are in the top tier, too.
+ drink: I'm in a gin-and-tonic phase right now
+ TV show: It's a tie between Babylon 5 and Firefly (though, honestly, I think B5 would have won out had Firefly been continued--the events of the movie make me think that I would have gotten sick of the gratuitous angst, like I did with Buffy and Angel).
+ dessert: Hmm. That depends. If it involves rasperries, it's probably up there.
+ music to dance to: Rammstein, Rotersand, Stromkern, Wumpscut, VNV Nation, Covenant, Marilyn Manson, etc, etc, etc...
Spending Time
+ Name a book you've read over and over. Tell me why it's so ripe for re-reading (if you want).
The Beekeeper's Apprentice. OMG, Laurie King writes the best Holmes! And Russell is just Sue-ish enough to be perfect for an intelligent reader to identify with, and then there's the Russell/Holmes snark, the bits of angst and whumping and H/C, so it pretty much hits all my major fic kinks.
+ Same goes for movie...
The Hunt for Red October. This movie is damn near perfect. The pacing and plotting are just... exquisite, with hardly a second of wasted screen time. There's just enough character development to make it emotioally compelling, but no pointless romances for the main character or anything like that. I've watched it a dozen or more times, and I still can't find anything to complain about in this movie.
+ If I visited where you live (or your favorite place) what's an off-the-beaten-path site to visit or thing to do that you'd recommend?
If you came to Michigan, we'd totally drag you to City Club, but you already knew that....
+ What's your favorite fandom (or if you're into btvs, pairing), if any? If you were going to pimp it, what would you reccommend? (links are appreciated)
Do I really need to answer that? ;)
+ Tell me about your favorite restaurant, or the best meal you ever had.
My favorite restaurant in the whole world is Mermaids, which is like two blocks from my parents' house in Fayetteville. It's a seafood restaurant, and they start with this wonderful homemade bread that's practically swimming in melted butter, and then a super-yummy salad with homemade dressing (I always get Caesar), and then whatever the entree is, which is always excellent, and finally dessert, which I always have to get because they make the awesomest desserts. Best one ever was a cheesecake with cherry sauce made from fresh cherries. Every bite was just this explosion of cheesy cherry goodness. *dies*
I'm gonna decline on the last section 'cause my brain isn't that awake today...

Date: 2006-05-20 08:05 pm (UTC)Steinbeck as an author I'm not really into -- the only other thing of his I've read is Of Mice and Men, and at the time I was indifferent to its charms.
I really do recommend it (again). There's other stuff by the author, but her site went away ages ago and (stupid) me didn't save them. Damndamndammndamndamn. And if you'd like to explore a little in that direction, anything by Keelywolfe is good.

Date: 2006-05-20 11:31 pm (UTC)And you took my little survey! *squishes you with hugs*
I love kittens too! It's kismet (or something). And all other cuddly animals that you mentioned. OH, and tiramisu is seriously good stuff - that would probably go fairly high up on my dessert ladder. You're so right about the Harry Potter books. They stand up so well with re-reading.
I've never seen Velvet Goldmine, but often meant to. Especially now that it comes so highly recceommended!
And if I ever make it out to the East coast, i'm going to take you up on that tour... cuz I almost went to Rutgers and ... sigh. Oh, and maybe we could visit lush? ;)
I didn't know you were a Star Wars fan! Hee. The things I learn... this is why I do these little surveys.
And you can barf all you want with the Spuffy, I will be right there with you... it categorically scares me.
And I already know that I can't live without your RADNESS!! hee!
Oh, and I know how you found me, it was because I was stalking eb's friendsFriends and saw that you were smart and talented and wanted to be your friend. And I am glad indeed for that!!

Date: 2006-05-20 11:37 pm (UTC)And I've actually read a Janet E. book - totally fun stuff, I agree. OH, and Secretary has to be one of my all time favorite movies - I totally agree with everything you said about it. OH DEAR GOD it's hot, too!! And the bath scene at the end just breaks me. I realized that I don't have that in my interests, and I'm going to have to put it in!
And thanks for the Spurglie link! I would've never thought about Spike/Anya either, but I'll have to take a look!
Oh, and the 'never lived without' question is a doozie isn't it? Dont'worry, I have a feeling I'll figure something out to put in there for you!!
And thanks for playing! *HUGS*

OH, and I'm going to go read Under The Shield too! I love fic recs - can you tell this whole survey was an underhanded ploy to get them? Regardless, thanks for playing!!! *HUGS*
