nono, they have a great asian studies department, just not an asian studies dept with an emphasis in postmodern japanese lit (cuz their big gun in the lit area is a guy who does Okinawan lit), and the comp lit/english depts only have one person who does any kind of science fiction/cyberpunk studies.

not like UBC - they have a woman who's the foremost authority on cyborgs in Japanese literature.

Not that Washington isn't on my short list - it is, for sure.
