so the birthdays begin
Sep. 16th, 2010 07:01 pmYesterday was the birthday of the most awesome woman in my life, my Mom. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY MOM IF YOU READ THIS!! YOU ARE AWESOME! Someday I'll have to write a much much longer thing about how my mom is awesome, and all the ways she made the world magical and taught me to be a strong person who could make choices but still believe in people, and see the big picture without forgetting to stop and pet furry animals on the side....someday, promise. But you kind of get the idea anyway, probably.
I'm leaving for the greater wilds of Northern California to celebrate the 90th birthday of my Step-Grandma. The whole family is gathering together (and by whole I mean I think 50 or so people that I can think of and probably a couple of more that I've forgotten) to do a shindig. I'm looking forward to it in a way I haven't done in ages.
Maija's birthday is next week Wednesday, and even though we did a little celebrating early I'm hoping I can get her out of the house for a milkshake or something.
And then? It'll be October, and that's when it's my birthday and Charisses' birthday and Vettie's birthday and Ariel's birthday and Kathy's Birthday and Phil's birthday. I know I'm missing more people. But seriously - October babies.
I keep meaning to write some angsty letters to my former housemates/friends/boyfriend/whatever, and we'll see if that happens on the plane. I will, of course, be posting them for your amusement (and mine) whenever I get them done.
