Yay for class! that is so groovy! Altho' the prof sounds really intimidating (I'm sure you'll do fine, tho' :)), the class sounds like a hella lotta fun.
I totally understand about the "katie" thing. One of the my fave teachers got it in his head that I was Liz *ick*, and called me that all three years of H.S. (he retired when I became a Sr.). After the first year, it became really endearing, altho' all the other teachers who picked up Liz because of him? Ticked me off.
You'll hafta tell me all about the lit class! It sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
