I think I'm probably in your camp as well, but I don't call myself a feminist, mostly because I disagree with a lot of "feminist's" views on equality. I've had numerous arguments about what they call 'equal' rights for women and men which aren't equal at all, but are actually them advocating for women to get equal PAY, yes, but extra this that and the other. And also because most of the self-proclaimed feminists I know seem to quite dislike men, and I have no problem with men, really. Like you, I have a problem with men who are sexist or racist or homophobic, but I have just as much of a problem with women who are sexist or racist or homophobic, and who think men are incapable of being victimised just because they have a penis. -isms are everywhere and until people really look at how many -isms they are capable of, even subconsciously, the only -ist I'll willingly call myself is an atheist. And even that probably gives off the wrong signals. I should say I'm a scientist; if they can demonstrate empirically that there's a higher power, and that he or she or it is responsible for our creation and personally invested in our wellbeing, then sure, I'll believe in it. Until then, no way.
(This might not make any sense, I'm tired and haven't had enough tea. But basically, pom poms for you, I totally support your view of things. And yes, fighting online is so draining.)
